Lib Dems Slam Latest Tory Attack On Environment

Following the announcement that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is to amend some of the government’s green policies, such as delaying the ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030 to 2035, the local Lib Dem's have hit out branding it a disgrace.

Commenting Tom Gordon, Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Harrogate & Knaresborough, said: "What Rishi Sunak should see in front of him is the opportunity to embrace the industries of the future and protect our environment and planet for coming generations.

Instead he is set to on rolling back our country's climate commitments, damaging our reputation as a global leader, and has blatant disregard for the UK car industry. 

Local people need to know whether our MP, Andrew Jones, supports his Government's position or not. I would urge him to speak out condemn Rishi Sunak's latest attack on our environment."
